  • 'Big Data' value manifests via 'Systems of Engagement' where data stored in activity logs are accessible to existing Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Report Writing tools via Relational Abstraction (be it Relations represented as Tables or Entity Relationship Graphs) using data access protocols such as HTTP, ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET, OLE DB, XMLA etc.. Naturally, virtualizing data across 'Systems of Engagement' and 'Systems of Record' lead to new point of value in the form of "Systems of Intelligence" -- which is where a Semantic Web of Linked Data brings a critical value to bear.
