Responsibilities: The Sr. Director, Engineering will be responsible for directing engineering teams in building scalable microservices that support reliable and secure APIs which transfer value and assets across all blockchain protocols (such as Bitcoin and Ethereum), as well as traditional baking protocols. Integrating Platforms Services with leading banks and financial technologies, including various cloud services, to facilitate enhanced scalability for an even greater number of Circle customers to access fast, secure, and low-cost payment channels supported by automated account settlement, wire reconciliation, suspicious transaction detection protocol triggering automatic review by Circle finance team, and building banking and crypto services in Java to support Circle’s USDC. Writing the infrastructure to deliver greater payment experiences, including data sources, messaging systems, and APIs. Designing, developing, testing, and shipping phenomenal Circle features and APIs, including developing platform tools that communicate to backend coding and authentication. Other duties as assigned. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to headquarters in Boston, MA.

Education: *Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field (or foreign equivalent).

Requirements: *Three (3) year of experience in the job offered or related engineering positions. Other special requirements include: 3 years of experience using programming language concepts such as C++, Python, and Java; 3 years of experience debugging and monitoring for production services; 3 years of experience designing large-scale technology stacks or similar large-scale data ecosystems; 3 years of experience working with source control systems such as Git and SVN; 3 years of experience working with platform tools such as React, AWS Lambda, and API Gateway); and 3 years of experience working with data structures and developing algorithms for functionality.

*In lieu of a Master’s degree and three (3) years of related experience, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree [or foreign equivalent] in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related position.
