This video is a quick cartoon introducing the MDM problem and the impact it has on an enterprise, featuring the Smith Family looking for Grandma's phone number.
*MDM, Semantics, and Linked Data*
Master Data Management (aka Data Virtualization) solves a Big Data problem by leveraging Entity Relationship Semantics. Even better, if the Virtualization leverages HTTP URIs, it becomes Web-Like (or Webby).
MDM is a problem tailor made for the combined virtues of Linked Data and RDF (which puts relation semantics into the data) which basically deliver Semantically Interlinked Data Webs that scale from personal and/or enterprise networks all the way up to the Web and Internet.
